U.S. Still Sponsors “Moderate” Terrorism in Syria

November 24, 2014

According to the repeated promises of Barack Obama, the U.S. bombing of Syria will not interfere with the operations, training or equipping of “moderate” paramilitaries. The paramilitaries have been hired as shock forces in a war to impose U.S. military rule and install a U.S. puppet regime.

To guarantee continued U.S. support, the administration is requesting $3.4 billion additional Overseas Contingency Operation funds to be designated for Syria.

Since the U.S. bombing began two months ago U.S.-backed paramilitaries have carried out dozens of successful attempts to destroy or disrupt power plants, emergency services, hospitals, schools, public transportation, thoroughfares, etc. Many more attempts have failed even while creating disturbances and draining the country's resources.

U.S. financial and military support for “moderate” paramilitary shock forces in Syria in the name of a so-called “war on terrorism” is not only hypocritical, it is also a violation of the inalienable right of the Syrian people to determine their sovereign affairs for themselves without outside interference.
