U.S.-Iraq Air Campaign Kills More Civilians in Mosul

January 23, 2017

On January 14, the British newspaper "The Guardian" reported that the al-Jadida area of the city of Mosul was hit by at least three missiles. Houses were hit and an unknown number of people were killed – possibly more than two dozen.

The U.S. war on Iraq is said to have officially ended during the Obama administration. However after that point the stated aim was to "defeat ISIS and other radical Islamic terror groups."

The U.S. government is waging a war of aggression, of annexation – a war which aims at subjugating the Iraqi people, who are considered no more than "collateral" damage in U.S. imperialism's drive for the export of capital and regional hegemony in the oil rich and strategic Middle East.
