Defense Department Officials Testify About Obama's Military Doctrine

May 21, 2013

On May 16 before the Senate Armed Services Committee, a panel of Defense Department officials testified that the Authorization for the Use of Military Force bill – passed in September 2001 by a nearly unanimous vote in Congress – continues to authorize the President to use the full force of the U.S. military against any and every country he deems necessary.

Members of the panel testified that according to the Obama administration the law legitimizes not only full scale invasions of sovereign countries, but also incidents in which people are killed in military actions where the U.S. is not officially at war such as in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia.

Make no mistake about it, U.S. imperialism has appointed itself the judge, jury and executioner and is intent on continuing to employ the most barbaric methods to try to impose its will on the world through force of arms.
