U.S. Launches Military Offensive in Afghanistan

October 6, 2010

The U.S. launched a new military offensive in Afghanistan in late September.  The offensive is being carried out by American and Afghan troops.  The objective is to clear the Taliban and other insurgents from three districts to the west and south of the capital city Kabul.

At the same time the U.S. is stepping up its efforts to bring in State Department employees and aid contractors to set up "stabilization teams" in areas taken over by the American and Afghan troops.

We can see that the war is continuing and we need to step up our opposition to it.  U.S. troops out of Afghanistan, now!
